Soulwax – ‘Empty Dancefloor’

Soulwax have released a once-off track on their own DeeWee label.

‘Empty Dancefloor’ is naturally, a song about missing dancefloors and the act of being in a club.

“I can barely remember how it feels,” the robotic female voice says, as if the dispassion in her voice has truly forgotten the buzz of a good dance.

Still, this is Soulwax, so it’s not some maudlin track, but an upbeat tense electro bop that feels like a prelude to 2021’s hopeful return to normal life.
