Hannah Worrall’s Dublin-based electronic production project SPOOKLET releases a debut EP this week – Friday September 6th.

In The Belly Of The Mother EP features five tracks including ‘Ah Shit’ and ‘Treasure’ previously-released and three new songs ‘Lost’, ‘Playground’ and ‘Délicieux’.

The EP comes after the recent Sloucho-collaboration ‘Casse-Toi’.

In The Belly Of The Mother is an aural voyage of self-discovery, an attempt to return to the safety of the womb with the artist’s statement saying:

“The EP encapsulates the ebbs and flows of the human consciousness as SPOOKLET dives inward to explore the depths of her own purpose. As we progress further into this body of work, she slowly begins to come out of her shell, revealing a multifaceted being. Initially showing a sweetness and an emotionally connected intelligence, she also dips into the grit of self-destruction, sharpening her claws as she enters her darker side…. In the belly of the mother we search for the essence that will carry us through the fluctuation of our wandering.”

The songs feature gauzy ambient textures, liminal synths, breakbeats, choral layered vocals, with club dynamics, particularly in the last two tracks of the release.

Worrall is inspired by the likes of Sega Bodega, Sevdaliza and FKA Twigs.

“Before entering the world we so desperately try to fit into, we bathe in the incognizance of our vulnerability, protected by the walls our mother creates around us. In the belly of the mother we search for the essence that will carry us through the fluctuation of our wandering. ”
