Warp Records are bringing the 2001 double album back into print on October 30th, across 4LP vinyl, 2CD, double cassette and a limited box set.
Aphex Twin’s Drukqs is getting a 25th anniversary reissue, out Friday October 30th via Warp Records. It marks the album’s first vinyl pressing since its original 2001 release, and completes Richard D. James’ full discography as Aphex Twin being back in print on vinyl.
Drukqs was originally released in October 2001, James’ fifth studio album and his first full-length since 1996’s Richard D. James Album. Spanning 30 tracks across roughly 100 minutes, it remains one of his most restless records, moving between hyper-detailed skattered breakcore and jungle-inflected electronics, electroacoustic, ambient and sparse, prepared piano pieces, including ‘one of his most famous and celebrated works ‘Avril 14th’. A number of song titles are rendered in Cornish. It remains his wild opus.
The reissue is pressed as a standard 4xLP black vinyl set at 45RPM, with polylined inner sleeves in a gatefold outer sleeve, alongside a 2xCD edition with an eight-page booklet and a double cassette version. Warp are also offering a direct-to-consumer 4xLP box set through the AFX store, including a six-panel poster and an AFX logo stencil.
