Some sad news rolling in this morning.
The first Sunstroke Festival, a rock and metal centred Irish music event, in 20 years has been officially cancelled.
✵ Sunstroke Festival Update:
— SUNSTROKE (@SunStrokeFest) April 15, 2020
It's with regret that we have to cancel SUNSTROKE due to the ongoing Covid 19 crisis. All ticket holders will be contacted directly by Ticketmaster.
Thank you to all the bands, managers, agents, crews, and you the fans for all your support so far. pic.twitter.com/l1EixEi2Dv
The festival was set to play host to the likes of Faith No More, Deftones, The Jesus And Mary Chain and many, many more.
Unfortuantely, due to the current situation being what it is, the organisers have made the descion to cancel this year’s event.
The festival was set to take place and the 13th and 14th of June, later in the calendar than some festivals which are currently still billed to be going ahead.
Somehow, I don’t think this will be the last article of this sort we write this summer.
Refunds are availible for ticket holders.
