Gabriel Paschal Blake is the bassist of The Murder Capital. He has released a solo single.
He’s also been a member of the bands Thumper and For Foresters.
Blake is from Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, which you can hear clearly in his voice on ‘Everythin’ About You’, a song that arrives today along with a music video directed and shot by the artist, which features Bronagh Gallagher.
The clip follows a group of pals in their 20-somethings betting on horses upstairs while Gabriel’s mother’s wake takes place downstairs ( a reinterpretation of real life events I’m told).
‘Everythin’ About You’ is a tender melodic acoustic-rooted full-band song with a touching sentiment, and backing vocals from Megan Nic Ruairí, who features in the video, sweetens the deal.

A welcome solo run.
This isn’t GBP’s first time behind a camera either, he directed and shot The Murder Capital’s ‘Return My Head’ video himself on a camcorder (filmed in his old secondary school), and has director/DP/editor credits on the band’s Live on KEXP session too, so he has form.
