Late night opening returns to Wellington Quay with a new programme of clubs and live music weekly.
The Workman’s Club has returned to late night opening seven nights a week, with free admission every night and a greatly expanded music and DJ lineup running from Monday through to Sunday.
The Wellington Quay venue is framing the relaunch as a work in progress, with each night built around resident DJs and live acts across the main room and the rooftop patio stage. Music generally runs from 7pm til late, and every night is free in.
The news comes after the passing of the Workman’s club booker and Fontaines D.C. manager Trev Dietz who passed away last month, and who the venue offered a dedication to by putting his name on the front of the establishment to read “Trev Dietz’s Workman’s Club.”

Definitely Mondays
- DJ Gary of Selfie Box spinning absolute classics from the 90s, from Madchester and grunge to the electronic anthems of the decade
- Two live acts on the rooftop stage singing Britpop, Madchester, US alternative and beloved radio hits of that hazy era
- Music 7pm til late
Black Tuesday
- A DJ set by Black Nylon and Friends
- Sean from The Deadlians doing his thing with Seany Baby’s Ranancoon and guests
- ‘Pogues on Tuesday’, with residents Stef and Dan of Badhands singing Shane MacGowan songs
- Music 7pm til late
- DJ Deece heading a cast of DJs on rotation including Mango, Bekah Molony and Colin Perkins, playing midweek house and disco party bangers
- Mik Pyro and Stefan Murphy doing soulful live covers on the patio
- Free in and going late
Cool Wedding pitches itself as the kind of tunes you’d hear at your cool mate’s wedding, bangers for your uncle, your auntie and you. It follows on from the previous Wednesday residency at the venue, Somewhere?, with DJ Deece dedicating the new night to the memory of his late friend Trevor Dietz.
“The previous iteration of Workmans Wednesdays, Somewhere? Club, was an incredible time in my life, and while the musical direction of COOL WEDDING is similar to what I would have played at Somewhere? I want to let that night lie with my late friend and hero, Trevor Dietz, and I hope he would have backed this new direction,” said Deece.
Thursday: Karaoke Night
- Karaoke from 11.30pm with DJ Anto
- Live music from 7pm on the rooftop with residents Dan and Paul
Surrender (Friday)
- Indie, alternative, psych and post-punk with DJ Rob Smith
- Live music from Ro Byrne and weekly guests on the patio stage
- Music 7pm til late
Disorder (Saturday)
- Saturday night indie and alternative with The Reverend Tony Bones and co, billed as the place to hear quality alternative music in Dublin on a Saturday
- Regular guests Rob Smith and Sam Morrissey
- Guest live performers on the rooftop from 7pm
Sunday Night Fever
- Disco, funk and soul curated by Nora Ronan of Innuendo, with DJ Nora and friends
- A live covers set from Mik Pyro, the King of Dublin Soul
- Velvet Sundays on the outdoor stage, running from Leonard Cohen to the Buzzcocks, with Sunday hymns from Stef and Dan
