The xx's Romy has dropped 'Lifetime', a solo dancefloor banger single

Romy Madley Croft of the xx has dropped a solo single called ‘Lifetime’.

Like her bandmate Jamie, Romy’s solo material, ‘Lifetime’ is an upbeat dancefloor song with clear pop tones.

The song, recorded in lockdown, is about “the dream of being reunited with friends, family and the ones we love, capturing the euphoria of being together again.”

That Romy would release a solo single isn’t surprising, she’s a co-writer with the xx and has recently written songs with Mark Ronson, Jehnny Beth, Benny Blanco and Dua Lipa (‘Electricity’).

As for the dancefloor elements, Romy DJ’d at Homobloc last year and played a Pride party too.

The song has been added to the Nialler9 Best New Music playlist.
