Paul Curran, a poet from Coolock and the songwriter and vocalist from the Dublin band Burnt Out sadly passed away earlier this month at a young age.
Curran had made a name for himself in recent years, both for his poetry and for Burnt Out, a music and multimedia project that explored working class identity. It’s a project which encapsulated grim realities through cathartic music but also brought some beautiful elements to working class vistas with subtle but fantastical special effects as seen in the video.
Those who made tributes included Dublin rapper Kojaque, grime star Skepta and Dublin poet Stephen James Smith.
RIP Paul Curran.
