Una Mullally’s Grianstad winter solstice audio experience happens on December 21st

Avatar

The writer and our pal Una Mullally has put together an audio experience around the winter solstice, which is designed to be played at sunset (currently approximately 4:08pm) of Wednesday December 21st.

Grianstad, is an Irish solstice audio experience produced by thisispopbaby. Sound design was composed and recorded by Jane Arnison and Julie Fogarty (Evvol, Under Tears) with text by Una Mullally, song by Ben Castle, MayKay, and Adam Matthews.

Grianstad is an “immersive, meditative experience timed with the light of the day fading. Says Una:

“Over the past few years, light, ritual, and marking key times on our Celtic calendar have been increasingly important to me. This piece, which you can listen to anywhere in the world, is an attempt to gather us, and focus our senses towards the light on the shortest day of the year ahead of the longest night. “

Registration is free from Eventbrite, and you’ll get an email with instructions, just decided where to watch the sunset when you hit play..
