Watch Fontaines D.C. perform ‘Starburster’ on Jimmy Fallon
We got a first glimpse of the Fontaines’ new live look and vibe as the band perform the first single from Romance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night.
The influence was mentioned in the Guardian interview, and could be seen in the recent press photo, but the band really do look styled like something from the nu-metal era – pleated skirt, big glasses, hair spray, combats, holed vests and a bit of general non-chalance.
It’s more Limp Bizkit fan at Central Bank in 2000 than the student Liberties vibe the band started out with.
It makes Romance (August 23rd) all the more intriguing and seems to mark a new era for the band.
