Wild Roots announces Kaiser Chiefs, Damien Dempsey, Soda Blonde, Daithí, Booka Shade for COVID-19 compliant Sligo festival in 2021

Wild Roots is a new festival bravely planning to debut post-COVID-19 on the shores of Lough Gill, Co. Sligo over the May bank holiday weekend in 2021.

The family-friendly 3-day event has put together a lineup mainstream, alternative and pop music, alongside live podcasts and outdoor activities including rock climbing, archery, aerial Yoga and more.

Acts announced to play the festival includeSoda Blonde, Daithí, Damien Dempsey, King Kong Company, James Morrison, Booka Shade and the Kaiser Chiefs


The festival says it will use advanced Covid-19 health & safety procedures in its running operations, more info below:

“We have reimagined the festival experience, lovers of the outdoors can take a swim, have a paddleboard lesson, or hoist a sail on the majestic freshwater lake made famous by W.B Yeats. Spend an afternoon rambling through the rugged wilds of the forest where you’re likely to meet circus folk, discover hidden art installations or catch an aerial acrobat show”. 

Covid-19

Covid-19 safety measures to be used by the festival include socially distanced zoned area camping; designated disinfectants points; health checkpoints for body temperature measuring and onsite isolation facilities with qualified medical personnel. Meanwhile, all attendees will be allocated an “RFID wristband” which will eliminate the need for queuing and allow for cashless payments at drink and confectionery stands. If necessary there will be mandatory rapid antigen testing before the event.
