YARD – ‘Bend’ // Irish electronic post-punk at its loudest

Avatar

The Dublin-based electro-noise rock band YARD’s new single ‘Bend’ is here.

Coming across like The Prodigy, Mandy Indiana, and Death Grips and emerging from the fertile Irish post-punk scene, ‘Bend’ follows their recent pulsating single ‘Big Shoes’, with big heavy industrial rock-style guitar lines, bleeping synths, crunchy beats and howling vocals.

The band’s lead singer Emmet White says:

“When you are caught in cycles of ‘bending over backwards’ for people and find it hard to realign yourself. Overextending yourself into others’ realities so much that you can’t find your own. Not recognising the contorted version of yourself that is left after accommodating the wants of many. Leaving you with physical reactions to this situation with tight, tense and involuntary body movements.”

About Yard

YARD are the electrifying three-piece electro-noise band from Dublin, and are back with their latest single ‘Bend’. Known for their intense and immersive sensory experiences, YARD bridges the gap between techno and noise rock, creating an auditory onslaught that leaves audiences sweaty, energised, and strangely unnerved.

With their eerie mascot ‘Bucketman’ visually representing their unique sound, YARD is rapidly carving out a niche in the Irish music scene and now way beyond. Since their inception, YARD has shared stages with the likes of Shame, Psychotic Monks, Mandy Indiana, CLT DRP, Scaler, Enola Gay, and Chalk.

Their electrifying live performances have earned them coveted slots at major festivals such as Eurosonic, The Great Escape, and Primavera Pro in 2024, marking a significant upward trajectory for the band.

Drawing inspiration from musical heavyweights like SUUNS, Gilla Band, Death Grips, and Nine Inch Nails, YARD’s sound is a concoction of aggressive yet infectious electronic post-punk.
