Young Hearts Run Free reveal delightful 10th No Idle Day Festival programme to celebrate 10 years
Young Hearts Run Free is an Irish collective who run music and literary events in unusual spaces all in aid of the Simon Community, lead by Siobhan Kane.
For their tenth year of existence, the organisers have announced their annual No Idle Day festival in December from 7th to 9th, all proceeds of the three day events will go towards the Simon Community, which YHRF are aiming to get to €10,000 this year.
As well as their annual Yule BYOB extravaganza in the Complex featuring David O’Doherty, Paddy Hanna, Emmet Kirwan, Katie Kim, Kevin Barry, Tandem Felix, Dowry, Minced Oath, David Hedderman, Music City (GLAM CHRISTMAS SET), The Plastic Ormo Band (post- Beatles classics), Chris Barry’s Boys and more, there will be a special Lisa Hannigan gig in Meet me In the Morning, Mick Heaney reads some of his father, Seamus Heaney’s poetry in Scout in Temple Bar, the YHRF Folk Club featuring Lisa O’Neill, Ye Vagabonds, David Kitt and more in Bello Bar, a Dreamgun surprise film read in Smock Alley, a walking tour with Come Here To Me’s Donal Fallon, Banter with Jim Carroll, and a night in Anseo with library records on the platter.
“This festival (as so much) is dedicated to the memory of my father, Patrick Kane, who taught me about the things that matter —culture, community, and “cloudbusting,” says Kane.
Tickets can be bought on Eventbrite and the full programme is below.
