Eurosonic, the annual new music showcase and conference festival that takes place Groningen in the Netherlands this week.
Within its diverse array of European music artists aiming to captivate the attention of industry, there are 10 Irish acts playing this year. These include:
- Chalk
- Chubby Cat
- CMAT
- Conchur White
- Kingfishr
- Le Boom
- Sweetlemondae
- The Love Buzz
- Yard
- yunè pinku
Additionally, yunè pinku has been nominated for a MUSIC MOVES EUROPE AWARD 2024, one of 15 nominated international artists, and is eligible to win one of 7 Music Moves Europe Awards to be presented at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 18 January. Previous Irish recipients and nominees include Fontaines D.C., Inhaler, Denise Chaila, CMAT and more.
The festival kicks off Wednesday January 17th and runs til Saturday January 20th.

Other European acts Eurosonic-bound include English Teacher, Fat Dog, Honesty, Julie Pavon, Lambrini Girls, Lynks, Master Peace, Pearl & The Oysters, Picture Parlour, Pib Blom,
Angela Dorgan, CEO of First Music Contact and Director of Music From Ireland, will be speaking on two panels whilst in attendance on inclusivity and exploring the Indian Music Market. Further info.
Music from Ireland, the Irish Music Export Office, help to co-ordinate the Irish presence and also promote the Irish acts to the over 4,000 delegates in attendance.
The event also brings together all the national radio stations from around Europe under the European broadcasters’ banner (EBU), of which RTÉ2FM is a prominent member. This year Sweetlemondae is the station’s chosen artist to be presented by them at the festival.
Founded in 2005, Culture Ireland – part of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media – works to generate international opportunities for Irish artists and supports Irish artists as they gain global contracts and develop their careers. In 2017, Culture Ireland reached 3.5 million live audience members and 7 million online viewers through the 450 Culture Ireland supported events presented in over 50 countries by Irish artists. Zeitgeist Irland 24 is a year-long programme of Irish arts and culture across Germany this year. Music From Ireland are delighted to participate in this programme, with lots of German festivals and showcases this year.
