Join Nialler9 for this month’s Listen Closely album listening party in The Big Romance.
Nialler9 in conjunction with The Big Romance present the Listen Closely series of listening parties, a night featuring a focus album from an artist we love on the last Wednesday of the month.
Broken Social Scene – You Forgot It In People (2002)
The Canadian collective Broken Social Scene ‘s second album is a kaleidoscopic collage of big warm-hearted indie rock anthems with flashes of shoegaze, chamber pop and ambient music held together by a generous chaos, sheer camaraderie and a particular density that comes from too many talented people in a room at once which just happen to include Feist and Metric’s Emily Haines. Featuring modern classics ‘Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl’, ‘Lover’s Spit’, ‘Stars And Sons’ and ‘Almost Crimes’. One of the defining records of the modern alternative era.
The band have just released a modern update to the record of sorts recorded with the 2002 album’s producer Dave Newfeld called Remember The Humans.
