Headache have shared a new song called ‘Make A Wish’. It’s out now on his label PLZ Make It Ruins.

Headache is a collaboration between the writer and poet Francis Hornsby Clark and Joseph Thornalley, the London producer who records as Vegyn. Clark writes the words and Vegyn produces and since 2023 the pair have used intentional AI text speech to narrate the lyrics on the records – which works in the context of how Headache is presented once you get used to it. Think of it like a modern update of Chris Morris’ Blue Jam radio shows.

‘Make A Wish’ is deadpan and observational, about exhaustion, missed chances and regret, with a recurring wish that gradually turns more hopeful.

It follows two albums: The Head Hurts but the Heart Knows the Truth in 2023, and Thank You for Almost Everything, released in October 2025. The latter has nine tracks, was mixed and mastered by Margo Broom, and sits somewhere between spoken word, ambient and trip-hop.

The Head Hurts but the Heart Knows the Truth is my favourite of the two – a novelistic album of storytelling and music that is really engaging in this instance where other attempts would fail.

Headache also now play live, with Vegyn and Clark both billed. They’ve dates lined up through November and December:

  • 7th November: Mooi Space, Toronto
  • 8th November: SAT, Montreal
  • 12th November: Knockdown Center, New York
  • 20th November: Outset, Chicago
  • 1st December: HERE at Outernet, London
  • 2nd December: HERE at Outernet, London
  • June 3rd 2027 – Primavera Sound, Barcelona

Vegyn has been busy elsewhere too. Last year he reworked Air’s 1998 debut Moon Safari as Blue Moon Safari, released through Parlophone around Record Store Day and alongside Air’s own Moon Safari Live & Demos.

You can hear Headache on Bandcamp.
