CLO-DRIVER is the solo project of the violinist, composer and producer Chlöe Fitzgerald, and her debut single ‘House in the Country’ is mighty impressive.
It’s her first release under her own name, but you’ve likely heard her work before. Born in Galway and trained in both traditional Irish and classical violin, Fitzgerald has been based in Dublin for six years, where she’s worked as a musician and arranger with EFÉ, Stella and the Dreaming, SOAK, Lucy McWilliams and April.
‘House in the Country’ is a swirling, unhurried piece of modern-classical songcraft, that sounds like the sonic manifestation of a chimney emanating gentle billows of smoke, with fragments of lyrics buried beneath atmospheric layers of piano from her sister Mia and saxophone from bandmate Shae Walsh.
It was mixed and mastered by owin (Curtisy, Saoirse Miller).
