Longitude is only a weekend away now and the Marlay Park festival has arguably the lineup of the summer (it certainly chimes with the makeup of this site) with the likes of Todd Terje, Caribou, Jungle, Alt-J, Glass Animals, Kaytranada, Ibeyi, Yoing Fathers, Pusha T, Leon Bridges and Young Fathers among many others.
As part of the weekend, Heineken Sound Atlas will be bringing a taste of Tokyo to Dublin inspired by Fueiho, the No-Dancing Law, a law overturned only last month after 67 years which banned dancing in small venues and clubs.
This includes a Sound Atlas area featuring a Japanese-style Izakaya, a noodle bar, a ping pong tournament, karaoke. They’ve also collaborated with Tokyo’s music scene and some Irish producers based there including Shortie and producers, HVNS, Sauce 81 (‘Natural Thing’ is a jam) and Dazzle Drums to come up with an authentic Tokyo club experience.
