Squarepusher, Herbie Hancock and Brian Eno: The Album

As seen on the Electric Picnic forum, a piece of news that is dated from December 06 on Monio’s site (Music of Northern Ireland Origin).

Steve joined the legendary Herbie Hancock for an all-day session produced by Brian Eno, also featuring Tom “Squarepusher” Jenkinson on bass.

The record is due out sometime in mid-2007

WTF?! Herbie Hancock and Squarepusher??? Brian Eno??? Is Bono involved?? What about Andre 3000?? Who’s Steve?? Too many Questions… The mind boggles at the outcome of this kind of collaboration. Some relevant Youtube action after the jump.

Incidentally, Did you know Eno is producing the next Coldplay album (which will feature production from Timbaland) ?

  1. Now come on Niall. This is not surprising at all. The title Two Bass Hit on Budakhan Mindphone was taken from Dizzy Gillespie and he uses jazz samples all over the shop. The connection with Eno is obvious enough too, from an electronica angle.

Eno to produce Coldplay? Considering his unperceptable influence over U2 WTF not? It’s going to be as bland as the last album.

I thought Hello Everything was pretty damn fine too.

    And he plays killer bass.

  3. Anybody here know where I can acquire a copy of the top performance, above? I believe it was a live concert running just over 9 minutes with Herbie and DST and about 1984. Been surfing the web for hours and can’t find anywhere but on Tube and dailymotion. ANyone? Desperate to get my hands on a copy of this!
