Spectrum is a new festival by Improvised Music Company, in association with Note Productions and Homebeat, billing itself as “creative music for curious ears”.
It takes place in Dublin from March 10th to 12th this year and features music of jazz, progressive, rock, alt-folk to electronica persuasions.
Featured artists on the programme include jazz composer and bassist Ronan Guilfoyle with Tom Rainey and Dave Binney performing Guilfoyle’s ‘Hands’, Cian Nugent, Norway’s Hedvig Mollestad, Belgian instrumental trio Dans Dans, improvised music with Izumi Kimura and Barry Guy, pianist Paul G.Smyth, and saxophonist Evan Parker among others. Homebeat will be present a late-night lineup of electronica on the Saturday night.
A programme of talks, in in Whelans and The Opium Rooms on Wexford Street will also take place including ‘Is music genre dead, or does it just smell funny?’.

Weekend tickets are €30 on sale until Sunday 5th February and a Standard Festival Pass is €40 after that. Individual prices for events vary and the talks are free. All from Eventbrite.
