What’s the venue like?

Live at the Marquee is a purpose-built tented venue in the Docklands area of Cork, on Centre Park Road. It’s been running since 2005 and has hosted everyone from Elton John to Lady Gaga over the years. Capacity is up to 5,000 people per night, so it’s a bigger room than most of the outdoor Dublin venues, with a proper festival atmosphere but under cover.

What else do I need to know?

Gates typically open at 6.30pm, though multi-act or afternoon shows may open earlier. Start times vary by gig, but main acts tend to take to the stage between 8.30pm and 9pm, with sets usually finishing by 10.30pm. Please follow directions from stewards and concert signage on the night.

Transport – How to get there?

Public transport is strongly advised. Live at the Marquee is about a seven minute drive from Cork city centre in low traffic, or roughly a 30 minute walk from the city, and about 15 minutes on foot from Ballintemple.

Car: Coming from the city, Centre Park Road is the first turn on the left at the Albert Road roundabout. There’s limited on-site parking which must be pre-booked online via Ticketmaster, as spaces sell out fast for busier shows. Multi-storey car parks such as Q-Park City Hall on Eglinton Street are also within a 15 minute walk and a good option to avoid road closures near the venue.

Bus and walking: The venue is close to the Marina and Páirc Uí Chaoimh, so it’s an easy walk from the city centre along the quays for anyone able to make the trip on foot.

What can I bring in with me?

Show your ticket at the entrance for inspection. Security checks are in operation and everyone may be subject to a search as a condition of entry. Bring your bank card, as the Marquee has operated as a cashless venue for several years now.

Food and drink

There are bars in the main tent and an additional outdoor bar area. As well as onsite food vans, the Marina Market and the Black Market, both converted warehouses with multiple food stalls, are within walking distance of the venue. Ballintemple and Blackrock village also have several pubs nearby if you want a drink before the show.

Where is the box office for ticket collection?

A ticket collection point is located near the main pedestrian entrance on Centre Park Road. As always, download your tickets to your phone in advance rather than waiting until the day.

What’s the age policy?

Age policy varies by show, so check the individual ticket page for each gig for the final word. Strict age monitoring is in place and any under-18s attending an over-18s show will be refused entry without refund.

Accessibility

Accessible viewing and facilities are available on site. Contact Aiken Promotions or check the Ticketmaster event page in advance if you have specific accessibility requirements for a particular show.
