Basciville – ‘Sweetheart Rodeo’
In the wake of Hozier, Wexford band Basciville feel like the most obvious candidate to capitalise on his success, in terms of industry interest and shorthand of discovery.
Cillian and Lorcan Byrne are brothers who have been biding their time since the incidentally Hozier-like ‘Blues In Red’ last year.
As with all smart bands playing Hard Working Class Heroes, Basciville have released a new track in the run up to it.
“I beg for attention / hope it’s something more.”
‘Sweetheart Rodeo’ has a indie-blues and soul feel to proceedings and yeah, it still sounds a bit like Hozier. The song was produced by Darragh Nolan at Asta Kalapa Studios and has been added to the Nialler9 New Irish Music Spotify playlist.
Catch the band on Friday in The Workmans Club as part of the Hard Working Class Heroes festival at 11:10pm.
