Beck has released a standalone single following his 2019 Hyperspace album that finds the musician returning to his folk ballad sound, as heard on albums like Mutations (1998), Morning Phase (2014) and Sea Change (2002).
‘Thinking About You’ is a gentle lovelorn ballad recorded in the same studio as Sea Change, Ocean Way, Hollywood with acoustic guitar and harmonica augmented by Blake Mills (guitar, mandolin), Justin Meldal Johnsen (bass) and Roger Manning (keyboards).
Beck is spending much of the year touring in Australia and in the US with Phoenix. Last year, Beck was supporting Arcade Fire as the allegations about Win Butler came out. Beck left the tour some weeks later.
