The Dublin collective’s most hook-driven release yet, written in a few weeks and featuring Dove Ellis on ‘G unit’, is out on FAMM.
Bricknasty have released their new seven-track EP, forever, via FAMM, following the announcement last month.
The clues for what was to come were in the singles – the clubbier mode of ‘bobinov’, with the 2-step indebted ‘the dom perignons’, with Samuel Pierre featuring on the vibey dance-leaning production of ‘lost my words’, the psychedelic R&B of ‘honey bee’ and Dove Ellis featuring on the Latin/Western-sounding ‘G unit’.
The mood is lighter, airier, more escapist yet more immediate than previous releases.
After three tapes that pushed deeper into the band’s experimental side, forever asks what happens when they aim for their most immediate music yet. “Before, we made it rocket science, but it’s not rocket science,” says Fatboy.
