Bong Ra – Peel Session
Starting with a radio presenter introducing the Sounds of Hell, this 18 minute mix recorded for John Peel’s show in 2002 showcases dark, cerebral and atmospheric breakcore / mash-up at its best. Taking in four tracks – “Kick Out The Jams”, “Dark Jazz”, “Archie Bunker Disciples” “Guettoblaster” interspersed with samples of a lady talking about a hellish vision she had and the radio presenter discussing the Sounds of Hell audio with listeners.
Incidentially, Bong-Ra is getting married on Saturday and is having a huge party in Utrecht, Holland where Venetian Snares, Jason Forrest, Sickboy, DJ Scotch Egg,
Rotator, Enduser, Parasite, Black Sun Empire, Soundbites and Westrum and MC Mike Redman will be “tearing the wedding bells apart!”. And only 10 euros!
I’ve also put up “Soundwave” the A-side to “Warhead” on a 7″ from 2004. It samples Queens of the Stone Age and has some guy shouting over the top of it. There is loads of other free downloads from the Bong-Ra website.
