One of the most interesting and unique singers, Camille from France (not to be confused with Camille O’ Sullivan) is back with a new album out this week called Music Hole. A slightly harsh title which means exactly what it says. The new album is largley sung in English using loads of strange vocal techniques so if you’re a fan of Bjork’s Medulla, you’ll love this. In the EPK documentary below Camille displays Celine Dion-esque batshit craziness as she points to her body’s musical holes (complete with sound effects), talks like a baby and is generally, a bit odd. Her music is still cool though. Watch the 18 minute long documentary and catch the video to ‘Gospel With No Lord’ below.

She is delightfully strange – interesting video. I’d not heard of her before, but a little wiki-investigation revealed that she was the vocalist on Nouvelle Vague’s version of Making Plans for Nigel, which I’ve always kinda liked for some reason.
I loved her first album and am really curious to hear this one. I hope it won’t disappoint- I’ve got to wait until I’m home from work to check out the videos.
Any possibility I might like this record is now gone. Unbearable.
for some reason i’m remarkably attracted to batshit crazy girls.
her music is really nice
something fresh
not a genre i would buy on cd,
but this cd might be an exeption for me.
