Castlepalooza additions: Minor Victories, Baio, Cut Chemist, comedy, DJs & the Courtyard Stage & more
Castlepalooza at Charleville Castle from July 1st to 3rd has just got bigger.
Having already announced the likes of Caribou, Villagers, Cat Power, Jurassic 5, Daphni, Polica and Steve Davis, the festival has revealed some new additions to the live, electronic, comedy, and talks.
New are:
Minor Victories – new band featuring Stuart Braithwaite from Mogwai, Rachel Goswell from shoe-gaze legends Slowdive, and Justin & James Lockey of the Editors,
Cut Chemist – Jurassic 5 DJ & turntablist
Baio – Vampire Weekend’s Chris Baio

The ever popular Courtyard DJ stage (sponsored by Dingle Gin) returns with its emphasis on club music and emerging Irish producers this year and features Maxmillion Dunbar, Jon K, Hashman Deejay, Slackk, Maurice Alexander, SIAS, Frankie Grimes, Toby Kaar (DJ set), Lumigraph, Morgan Buckley, Barry Redsetta, Pat Hyland, Sim Simma, Bentley &Born,T/A/S/T/E, Rory Bowens (NTS), Melly, Sally Cinnamon, Jamul Sul (Watermelon), Hennessy/Higgins/BOT, Sonel Ali (All City), Minos (live), Daire Carolan (All City), Glacial Sound and Shrieken.

The Scene Of The Rhyme is a two hour spoken word performance, showcasing some of the country’s best acts in poetry, spoken word and theatre. This year we bring you Lady Grew (provocative hip hop cabaret-RTE, Edinburgh), Temper-Mental MissElayneous (Legendary Dublin based spoken word artist-RTE,C4), David Jackson (one of Ireland’s deepest soul searchers of the spoken word) and the Scene Of The Rhyme collective (a riot of hilarious, political, ludicrous, horrifying and just plain wrong spoken word and poetry).
