Sean Cooley and Kevin A. Freeney’s output as CLU recently has found the Dublin A/V duo working through a mix of bass music, post-dubstep and deep electronica set to Kevin Freeney’s futuristic neon visuals.
For this new track ‘Jade’ taken from a compilation for a French culture magazine The Chemistry, the track uses a fluttering arpeggiated synth as a foundation for a bed of frantic drum beats. Despite the discombobulating rhythm, the bass keeps focus and the vocal samples punctuate the arpeggio making for a more experimental-style piece of music than their previous work. It’s a free download at XLR8R.
Clu play Twisted Pepper on December 14th with Ocho, Carriages and Ghosts.
