CMAT announces debut album If My Wife New I’d Be Dead & single ‘No More Virgos’

Avatar

CMAT has announced her debut album If My Wife New I’d Be Dead to be released on 25th February 2022 via AWAL Recordings.

The 12-track album “is about the double edged sword of comedy” and features previous singles I Don’t Really Care For You’, ‘2 Wrecked 2 Care’ and I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby!’, along with today’s new song ‘No More Virgos’, a song that is Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson’s attempt and bringing together her love of Italo disco with her hatred of Virgos.

I’m the kind of girl who dates the same person over and over again. Specifically, every single one of my partners have been Virgos. I wanted to write a song that pokes fun at this aspect of my personality, and try to be a voice for all of my long-suffering friends. Musically, I really wanted to try and marry my love of 80’s Italo disco with my hatred of Virgos. I just can’t help myself from making terrible decisions sometimes! Sorry!”

The album is available on pre-order, and some new tour dates are now on sale November 5th in Cork, Limerick, Belfast, Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Leeds, and on brand for CMAT – Nashville, LA and New York in 2022.All dates below.

The album artwork by Rachel O’Regan features some well-known characters attending CMAT’s “failed wedding”, including Groundhog Day’s Punxsutawney Phil, Rock DJ era Robbie Williams, what looks like John Travolta in Pulp Fiction, Dolly (ofc) and Mona Lisa.
