Daithí – Lakelands Motion Picture Soundtrack (album premiere)

Lakelands is a new Irish film by the directing, producing and writing pair Robert Higgins and Patrick McGivney, set Granard in Longford, about a young Gaelic footballer who struggles to come to terms with a career-ending injury, after a violent attack on a night out.

It stars Éanna Hardwicke, Danielle Galligan and Lorcan Cranitch, and is in selected Irish cinemas now.


The motion picture soundtrack features original score by Clare multi-instrumentalist electronic producer Daithí, who offers a sparse backdrop for the score of the film, alongside the Limerick artist Strange Boy’s song ‘Waiting’.

The film received four IFTA nominations, including Best Film and Best Original Music at the IFTA Awards, and you can listen to the soundtrack in full below, and watch a trailer, ahead of the soundtrack release this Friday May 12th.
