Download: VerseChorusVerse’s punk covers charity album
VerseChorusVerse has been Tony Wright, former guitarist with And So I Watch You From Afar’s new project for over a year now and to mark the occasion of 12 years since his mother passed away, he has recorded covers of Sonic Youth, Fugazi, The Undertones, Nirvana, Stiff Little Fingers and The Clash to raise money for charity.
My mum passed away 12 years ago today from cancer and as some of you may know, I suffer from depression. I decided to do the only thing I know how to raise a bit of money and awareness: record a punk covers album of my have alternative songs re-imagined. It’s up on Bandcamp for 50p a track (or pay what you like) and the full story of it is here. Every single penny will be split between First Fortnight (a mental health charity I have worked with in the past) and Action Cancer Coleraine, my mother was chairperson of that branch before she passed.
