Elastic Sleep’s ‘Slip’, their newest single has an eerie alchemic quality to it. There are sounds you’ll be familiar with, a rolling bassline with a touch of distortion, cavernous drums, flashes of crunchy guitars but there’s an uneasy magnitude to things. The rhythm creeps along while the vocals of Muireann Levis discombobulate proceedings, stretching the dynamics of the track into a larger sonic space that creates a slipstream gulf between the song’s frequencies.
The song is on iTunes. Elastic Sleep’s next gig is in The Triskel, Cork on December 6th.
