Enter the The Reich Drumming remix competition
Next month Cork Opera House presents The Reich Effect, a five-day festival honouring Steve Reich with performances from Efterklang, the Johann Johannsson Ensemble, Kronos Quartet, London Sinfonietta, Crash Ensemble, Gavin Friday, RTÉ Concert Orchestra performing works by Jonny Greenwood and more. It all happens from Wednesday 27th to 31st July.
To celebrate and to do something different, the Reich DRUMMING Remix Competition is asking musicians, DJs, producers and remixers to create their own Reich Effect. Full details of what’s required, how to download stems for the remix competition are on the Cork Opera House website.
The finalists will be judged by Steve Reich himself from a shortlist picked by Jim Carroll, Gavin Friday, Stevie G, Nialler9 and Donal Dineen. The closing date for submissions is July 5th. PDF with more info.
