Fred Wesley and the New JB’s followed as his live funk band project, and next month, Wesley brings his Generations project to Dublin, which connects his jazz roots to the present and the past.
Wesley leads a trio with organist Leonardo Corradi and drummer Tony Match who originally formed for a one-off performance to pay tribute to the soulful jazz of Jimmy Smith. They’ve continued ever since.

Fred Wesley has been music director, arranger, trombonist and a primary composer for James Brown from 1968-1975, then arranged for and played with Parliament-Funkadelic and Bootsy’s Rubber Band. He’s also played Ray Charles, Pancho Sanchez, Van Morrison, Usher, the SOS Band and Cameo.
