The well-known Galway club Cuba was an institution back in the day.
The iconic Galway night club Cuba is reopening this weekend after being closed for 13 years with some pop-up shows before a grand reopening, on the same night as Electric reopens its doors.
The venue, on Prospect Hill, just off Eyre Square is kitted out with a Funktion One soundystem and is billed as “Galway’s home for alternative music.” Expect house, techno, drum & bass, hip-hop and live performances in the club.
Tonight’s show features Hot Minute (Supergross B2B Ryan Conway) from 10pm, with upcoming shows listed for Chaz Moloney, Dylan Fogarty and more on Resident Advisor. The venue closed in 2011 and hosted sets from Mr. Scruff, Pendulum, Groove Armada, Unabombers, Justin Robertson, The Magician and more.

Electric also opens tonight

Electric which was promising to reopens as a multi-purpose space in recent months, is also opening tonight with sets from Bongani, Lolz and Cormac.
What a night for Galway city.
