Gavin Glass, Colm Mac Con Iomaire, The Frames, Mundy, Ollie Cole stung by distributor closure

The Dublin-based music distributor Indi Entertainment, which is owned and operated by RMG Chart Entertainment went into liquidation last week, meaning that a host of Irish artists and labels who used the company to distribute physical albums to the shops in recent months likely won’t receive any of the money owed to them.

These include Colm Mac Con Iomaire, The Frames, Gavin Glass, Oliver Cole, and Mundy. There are plans for a gig to help recoup these costs in the works but for now, if you want to help the artist, buy the album direct from them where possible with the links below:

Colm Mac Con Iomaire – Agus Anois an Aimsir

The Frames – Longitude

Gavin Glass – Sunday Songs

Oliver Cole -Year of the Bird (Bandcamp)

Mundy – Mundy

Alien Envoy – Loads (Bandcamp)

Fiach Moriaty – The Revolution

  1. Hi Nialler, still waiting to get all the grisly details but Alien Envoy’s recent album “Loads” (on my own Self Possessed label) was also distributed by Indi since its release last November, so we’re likely to have been badly affected too. It’s so hard to sell records in the first place these days, very tough to not get paid for the ones you have managed to shift. The album is available directly by mail order from http://www.selfpossessedrecords.com (along with various other releases as both Alien Envoy and Nick Kelly) or via Bandcamp. Thanks for highlighting this unfortunate turn of events for independent artists.

  2. The music industry is dying Indi going is just another nail in the coffin.
Kila’s new album Suas Síos can be bought from Kila.ie
