Grimes – ‘Genesis’ (live on Later with Jools Holland)
Grimes did herself a great service in the great buzzband of 2012 stakes with this performance. It could have very easily fallen flat on its arse (a la LDR) and made anyone who has been championing her feel like a complete tit to the larger outside world watching her for the first time but you can hold your head high today internet. Not even the all-seeing eye hippy shit can ruin this one.
Alabama Shakes were pretty good too even though I get the feeling ‘Hold On’ is the only tune I’ll be listening to of theirs in six months. Of Jack White, I have no opinion, that is not made for me. You can watch all of the show on Youtube.
