Armagh’s Hannah Peel is a member of The Magnetic North with Simon Tong (The Verve, The Good The Bad And The Queen, Gorillaz), a former member of John Foxx’s band and has just released her own album, Awake But Always Dreaming which addresses Alzheimers and Dementia. The album was recorded in Shoreditch, London and Attica in Donegal.
‘All That Matters’ kicks off the album in a sprightly electronic pop style which softens the song’s mantra of living in the moment.
Richard Norris who is one-half of Beyond The Wizards Sleeve with Erol Alkan, has given the tune a different shade and a 4/4 kick.
Hannah Peel says:
“I wrote this song as a bittersweet mantra for someone close to me and since then, it seems to have also become my own tune to lift me out of troubled moments. A constant reminder that no matter what life throws at you, to not forget about the ones who will always care, the ones who are standing waiting to welcome you back, the ones who will forever look after you and say simply, they love you. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters, caring and being cared for. Yet to love and not be loved is one of the saddest things of all.”
