Prima Volta Weekender returns to Limerick from Friday November 22nd to Sunday November 24th
Prima Volta began as a three-day music and arts festival as part of Limerick City of Culture 2014 featuring international artists such as Fatima, Kutmah and Illum Sphere, and now it is 10 years deep.
Prima Volta’s main focus is on hip-hop, jazz, and beat-orientated music.
2024’s edition this month, features live performances from Celaviedmai, Negro Impacto, Hazey Haze, Wastefellow, Cooks But We’re Chefs, Eva Keyes and Jonezy.
Prima Volta has support from Limerick City and County Council for its 10th anniversary.
Peter Curtin co-founder of Prima Volta said:
“The ten years have flown by but it has been an absolute pleasure to platform some extraordinary talent from this island during that period. We have hosted some amazing acts for the first time here in Limerick such as Shookrah, Trá Pháidín, April, Jar Jar Jr. Fehdah, Bricknasty, Tomike, The Bonk and many more and we’re delighted to host a weekender to mark our birthday.
Legacy was one of the core values of Limerick City of Culture 2014 and the initial festival gave us the resources to build on a collective that thankfully is here to this day. We’ve got an action-packed weekender featuring some of the cream of Irish creative talent, we hope to see you on the dancefloor.”
