Intro: Dublin three-piece rock band For Nina step up with new single ‘Hounds’

The Dublin three-piece For Nina have just released their fifth single since forming in 2023.
‘Hounds’ is the band’s second single of ‘2025’ and their best single to date, and ‘Low’ (below) is pretty good too.
The band formed in 2023 after meeting in college, and bonded on alternative rock, and played Ireland Music Week in 2024.
“Hounds’ does a the driving noise rock guitar thing well, and paired with Holly Owens dominant vocals, the song leans into abrasiveness, a live-session feel and reverbed instruments with a Detroit garage rock swerve.
It’s the sound of a band and song growing in confidence from a shy beginning.

They say:
“The track came out of nothing really. We were just jamming out over the main riff and then everything seemed to click and within half-an-hour we had the song. We wrote the chorus in a way that hopefully highlights the uncertain chaos of being ‘twenty-something. We were in a tricky place with our college course at the time and the feelings manifested themselves within the song. At least those feelings led to something good!”
For Nina are:
Holly Owens – guitar, vocals
Ben Watson – guitar
Max Kaye – drums
