Introducing: Factory Floor – industrial post-ravers
Dirty, gritty, dystopian, hypnotic, trance-inducing, industrial, loud.
All of these words can be applied to London trio Factory Floor who channel the spirit of ’90s techno in their own way, sounding like The Velvet Underground on pills. There’s a nostalgia to their music which explains why former Joy Division drummer Stephen Morris is now producing their new material after having remixed their current stuff.
So far they’ve released ‘Lying’ and ‘Wooden Box’ digitally and on vinyl. Both are stonking tunes clearly in a dancefloor headspace. They sound like they were recorded in a dingy disused and boarded up warehouse during an all-night rave.
