While the rest of the world is catching up with Richie Egan’s output as Jape and we are awaiting a new album (as the demos on his MySpace sound like his best work), Adam Freeland’s label Marine Parade has released Floating in two formats – a 7″ backed by a Son Green remix (listen here) and a 12″ with remixes from Alex Metric and Prins Thomas.
No doubt these releases were helped by that Raconteurs version [youtube] of the song which I find a bit boring but the Prins Thomas remix is an effective 12 minute space disco workout perfect for DJs to drop into their sets and for everybody else to enjoy the stretched out fuzziness of the remix. Niiice.
