Jon Hopkins added to Massive Attack’s Kilmainham show

A Jon Hopkins live show has been added as the support to the big Massive Attack outdoor show at Royal Hospital Kilmainham

The Bristol trip-hop legends will play the show on Sunday 28th August 2022.

Tickets priced at €59.50 plus fees are on sale now.

Massive Attack announced most of their shows this year will not take place because a member has been dealing with a serious illness, and though they arew in recovery, shows in May, June and July are cancelled.

The band’s last full-length album was Heligoland in 2010, but they’ve released EPs in 2016’s Ritual Spirit and 2020’s Eutopia, the latter featuring Algiers, Young Fathers and Saul Williams.

Jon Hopkins’ most recent album Music for Psychedelic Therapy is an ambient album that was made to accompany the activity of the title.

“..something that is closer to a classical symphony than a dance / electronica record. Something that is more like having an experience than listening to a piece of music. It is not ambient, classical or drone but has elements of all three.”
