Kieran Hebden & William Tyler release the psych jazz of ‘Darkness, Darkness’

Producer Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) and Nashville guitarist William Tyler have teamed up for ‘Darkness, Darkness’ & ‘No Services’.

The 12″ single comes out via Sylvan Esso’s Pyschic Hotline singles imprint on June 30th, and marks another contribution to Hebden’s fruitful period of release.

The A-side ‘Darkness, Darkness’ is out today, and runs 10 minutes with Hebden’s trademark percussive arrangements with a psych jazziness, matched with Tyler’s picked guitar and a sample of Gloria Loring’s 1969 version of The Youngbloods’ ‘Darkness, Darkness’.

“I’ve been working on some music with @williamtylertn the last few years…It was made after I sent William some samples and loops I’d put together and he layered up all the guitar parts to go with it. Since then we have also done some sessions in a studio with plans of making an album. Ben UFO plays cello on the album and there is a Lyle Lovett cover. I hope to finish the record soon. “
