Having teased a project with a live show in Brighton at The Great Escape recently, Irish singer-songwriter Orla Gartland, and her music pals dodie, Greta Isaac and Martin Luke Brown.
FIZZ are a collective of pals, who recorded a 12-track debut album called The Secret To Life, at Middle Farm Studios, in South Devon last summer with Pete Miles.
The band’s debut single ‘”‘High In Brighton’ showcases a psychedelic vocal pop style, with the vocalists trading verses, as the song builds to a Sergeant Pepper key change crescendo.
“‘High In Brighton’ is a psychedelic yearning to escape to a fantasised seaside town complete with a key change, honky tonk piano, high speed drums and even a clarinet solo. ‘so f*ck it, I’m leaving, I’m out of here I got a one way ticket to heaaaven…’ *For legal reasons, the band state that the lyrical reference to being ‘high’ refers to paragliding on Brighton Beach.”
