Here is the Mercury Music Prize 2016 nominations & a Spotify playlist of all the albums
No nominations for PJ Harvey, Bibio and James Blake but grime features in Skepta and Kano, Radiohead might win their first Mercury music prize and David Bowie received a post-humous nomination. Here are the albums in full that are up for the shortlist.
The process has changed by the introduction of a a new finalists phase. The 12 albums will be whitled down to 6 on September 15th with the first album on the list voted for via online poll.
Those remaining six will be up for the accolade and the £25,000 prize in September.
Out of this lot, I’d go for, in order: Ahohni, Bowie, Skepta, Radiohead.
