Music you should have heard – The Go! Team
With the band due to start recording a follow up to ‘Thunder, Lightning, Strike’ in the next week in Brighton and with a single due in September, there’s no rest for one of the most energetic and fun bands you’re likely to hear. In an interview this week with Pitchfork the band’s leader Ian Parton suggested that the song “Doin it Right” will be the single released in September. There has been a superb live recording of this track around for the last few months and I have been listening to it a lot along with the live versions of album tracks and a few remixes keeping my Go! Team buzz going for until September (I’m going to miss them at Oxegen). There’s also a cover of Sonic Youth’s Bull in the Heather to listen to on their MySpace page.
