Here’s a rundown of new releases on DSPs and physical releases in record shops this week.
Björk – Fossora
Björk’s tenth bass-clarinet-featuring album draws from traditional Icelandic music to contemporary classical, reggaeton, and gabber club with collaborators El Guincho, Gabber Modus Operandi and serpentwithfeet. The title is made up by the artist and she says it “‘is the feminine of fossore ( digger, delver, ditcher ). so in short it means ‘she who digs’ ( into the ground).” ‘Ancestress’.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Cool It Down
New York alt-rockers first album since 2013’s Mosquito. ‘Burning’ live on Kimmel.
Gabriels – Angels & Queens
“Could this be the album of the year?” asks The Guardian of the big voice behind ‘Love and Hate in a Different Time’.
Shygirl – Nymph
Debut studio album by British rapper and singer. ‘Shlut’.
Melody’s Echo Chamber – Unfold
The lost follow-up album to her self-titled debut on Domino, which includes seven rare and unreleased tracks. Bandcamp.
Freddie Gibbs – $oul $old $eparately
Gary Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs unveils his major label debut album with features from Pusha T, Rick Ross, Offset and more. ‘Space Rabbit’
Selló – Sellótape
Debut mixtape from the rising Irish rapper who occasionally mixes drill with trad samples. The Mixtape includes appearances from Robbie G, Reggie, JRILLA, Offica and Evans Junior and was produced by Max Crowley.
HamsandwicH – Magnify
A return to long playing for the Kells band demonstrating new shapes and sonics on their fourth outing. ‘All My Blood’
Pádraig Cooney – Centuries of Learning
Dublin musician Pádraig Cooney ( ex Land Lovers, Skelocrats, Autre Monde) releases a debut album on Galway’s Strange Brew, in which he limits himself to synths, guitar, and drum machine – “a complete one-person pop suite.” ‘Another Reputation Ruined’.
Clare Sands – Clare Sands
Sixth generation fiddler, bilingual singer & multi-instrumentalist Clare Sands releases a debut album featuring Manchán Magan, Fiachna Ó Braonáin, Tommy Sands, Steve Cooney, Bernadette Devlin McAliskey & Susan O’Neill. ‘Awe na Mná’
Kid Cudi – Entergalactic
Entergalactic is the eighth studio album by Cudi, and serves musical component to Cudi’s upcoming adult animated special of the same name.
Pixies – Doggerel
Eighth album from the Boston classic rockers. Title track.
Lambchop – The Bible
The latest full-length release for the Kurt Wagner-led band. ‘Police Dog Blues’.
CONFIDENCE MAN – Re-TILT Remix EP
Remixes from Tame Impala, TEED, Erol Alkan and more. Bandcamp.
Titus Andronicus – The Will to Live
New Jersey rock band seventh and first since 2019.
Slipknot – The End, So Far
Seventh full-length from the heavy Iowa band.
billy woods – Church
Surprise followup to the excellent Aethiopies album from this year from one-half of NYC hip-hop duo Armand Hammer.
Clark – 05-10
A compilation of new tracks, unreleased archive material and rarities, collected by Clark to release alongside the remastered reissue of the Body Riddle album.
Snarky Puppy – Empire Central
19-track album from the eclectic jazz funksters.
The Big Pink – The Love That’s Ours

Matt Ó – Messer EP
One half of Kildare duo Tebi Rex releases 7 tracks of “vibing, melodic, pop, hip-hop and R&B infused tunes.”
Dodie – Hot Mess EP
Four-track EP from the English singer-songwriter.
Brame & Hamo – No Strangers // Mountains
A final two-track missive from the Sligo electronic duo before they close their account for good. Bandcamp.
Mansur Brown – NAQI Vol.1
English artist who makes head-nodding instrumental music out of guitars and beats. Bandcamp.
