New albums out today: Mogwai, SG Lewis, Tash Sultana, Christian Cohle & more
Friday is album release day and here’s a quick rundown of what’s been released on DSPs and physical releases in stores.
Mogwai – As the Love Continues
The Scottish post-rock band release their tenth album on Rock Action Records. The album was recorded in 2020 with producer Dave Fridmann working remotely and features contributions from Atticus Ross and Colin Stetson.
SG Lewis – Times
I got hyped for SG Lewis’ debut album after ‘Impact’ featuring Channel Tres and Robyn dropped last summer followed by ‘Feed The Fire’. The album also features Nile Rodgers and Frances.
Tash Sultana – Terra Firma
The Australian guitarist and songwriter releases 14-track second album.
Christian Cohle – Holy Trouble
Irish Songwriter/producer releases full-length debut.
A. Smyth – Last Animals
Formerly of electro-pop band Vann Music, A.Smyth has found himself pastoral as a folksy indie artist. Album produced by Darragh Nolan of Asta Kalapa.
Ghetts – Conflict of Interest
UK rapper has features from Pa Salieu, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Giggs, Dave, Skepta, Jaykae, Emeli Sandé, Wretch 32 and more on this one.
Ariana Grande – Positions (Deluxe)
Extended version of the album from last year.
Tindersticks – Distractions
Thirteenth album from Stuart Staples and band on City Slang.
David Gray – Skelling
A new David Gray album inspired by the near-mythical Kerry island.
Davie Furey – Haunted Streets
Celtic folk-rock singer-songwriter’s new album features Steve Wickham (The Waterboys), Darren Holden (The High Kings), ELLYD, Susan O’Neill (SON), Clare Sands, Robbie Campion, Martin Quinn, Andrew Quinn and Francie Conway.
