Here’s a rundown of new releases on DSPs and physical releases in record shops this week.

Air – Sault

Another surprise album from Sault who are producer Inflo and vocalist Cleo Soul. This one is all choral voices and orchestration in a live sounding format. Feels like a commission possibly.

Gareth Quinn Redmond & C.R. Gillespie – The Exquisite Corpse Shall Drink the New Wine

“Organic-ambient-folklore-minimalism.” The Dublin ambient artist’s new album is a collab, as explained:

“An experimental ambient album consisting of two side-long compositions, written in tandem by both artists through collaborative sentence-finishing; one beginning and the other complementing, back and forth until the piece took shape. LP is a collaborative exploration of surrealistic spaces, documented by each composer in their respective hometowns of Toronto and Dublin.”

Jinx Lennon – Pet Rent

Dundalk DIY punk artist is back, with “an hour long garage rock odyssey full of punk, glam, and showband beats, a cracked eye lens view of provincial Irish life.”

It was produced by Chris Barry, who features on the record alongside Post Punk Podge, Sophie Coyle, Sara Jane Hopkins and Barry Semple (Deadlians). Mastered by Naive Ted. He’s playing Thomas House tonight in Dublin to launch it.

Kurt Vile – (watch my moves)

Classic songwriter’s new album is being hailed as a return to his best.

Jerry Paper – Free Time

Third album on Stones Throw from Lucas Nathan is centered around the artist’s acceptance of being non-binary.
